Omobola Abioye became Professor of Biochemical Nutrition, department of Chemical Pathology, College of Health Science, Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) in 2014. Over the last 35 years she has contributed to teaching, research and service in Academia through her research on the complex interactions of nutrition, health and disease including HIV AIDS, diabetes, hypertension and malnutrition. With over 70 publications (h-index 15, i10-index 20), and more than 560 citations, she has at various times been consultant nutritionist to the African Union commission and NEPAD on the African Regional Nutrition strategy, Temporary Adviser to the World Health Organization, Research fellow at the University of Cornell and Columbia Presbyterian, New York, USA, National Coordinator for the European Commission Young Africa Scientist network on Poverty Related Diseases and visiting professor of nutrition, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho, Ghana.
